BIOGRAPHY
Lee Wan Tak, Dionne (b. 1995) is a young student artist and designer based in Hong Kong. Her artistic practice focuses on daily life and the emotions behind. Bearing this theme in her mind, she creates artworks with spontaneous mediums. Dionne first studied Visual Communication Design in Hong Kong Design Institute, and is currently studying Fine Art in Birmingham City University. Her upcoming co-exhibition, Slash Generation, will be held on June 14-21 in Sheung Wan Civic Center, Hong Kong.
ARTIST STATEMENT
家作為生命中不可或缺的一部份，亦可能是我們花最多時間逗留的地方，家到㡳是甚麼？
我們容易對日常生活中的事物習以為常，但我經常猜想甚麼原因驅使這些事物出現在身邊? 我的作品透過呈現家中微小的事物並抽絲剝繭，發現背後錯綜複雜的情感交錯，醒覺這些事物的不凡之處，繼而反思家的概念。
‘Home’ is an essential part of life. The place where we potentially spend most our lives . I am interested in asking; what exactly makes a place we can call ‘home’?
We often take things in our daily life for granted, but I always wonder what the reasons are behind every situation. My work revealed all the details of home and draw lines from details to understand reasons, discover the complexity of emotions and allow us to be awakened by the extraordinary in the mundane. Through my work the concept of ‘home’ can hence be reflected.
